• Indrani Mukerjea met Siddhartha Das, a Tripura-based tea estate owner, at a party through a common friend in 1984. After completing her college education in Shillong, she began living with Siddhartha at Indrani’s home in Guwahati and started a bakery shop.

• While she was serving her sentence, Indrani Mukerjea informed the court that she translated some verses of the Bhagavad Gita into English and wished to publish them.
