  • He is of Irish-Italian descent; Irish on his father’s side and Italian on his mother’s.
  • Luke’s grandfather moved to India from Burma after World War II and got married to Luke’s grandmother who was a British. His father was born in Delhi. Luke’s father moved to Calcutta and got married to an Italian girl (Luke’s mother).
  • Luke’s parents got divorced when he was very young.
  • When he was a 3-month-old baby, his father moved to Mumbai along with him and his grandfather. He was raised by his father and grandfather, both of them were musicians, so Luke’s connection with music started early in his life.

  • After he completed his schooling, he took admission in Elphinstone College, Mumbai, but he did not complete his graduation since he went on to learn music and culture.
  • In 1989, he began his career as a solo dancer. He joined Arshad Warsi‘s dance team and became his associate choreographer (1990 to 1992).

  • In 1995, he went on to become India’s first male VJ on Channel V.
  • In 1997, Luke appeared in the film, Bombay Boys; playing a minuscule role of a leader of a rock band.
  • In 2005, he made a comeback as the face of the show, ‘Luke’s After Hours,’ the show was known for playing a unique collection of music; especially chosen by Luke.

  • In 2005, Luke made his debut feature film as a director and a producer called “13th Floor,” which starred Purab Kohli and Sandhya Mridul. It was India’s first ever digitally made and released film which was shot in just 6 days; it was also screened at Fame Cinemas and Fun Republic Theatres.
  • For its unique content, the film got featured in the following film festivals: Tromafling International Film Festival, Edinburgh 2005, Temecula Valley International Film Festival, California 2005, Sports Movies TV India International Film Festival, 2006, International Film Festival of India, 2006, and Cape Town Bollywood Film Festival, South Africa 2007.
