Controversies• In 2006, he said that in order to put a brake on AIDS cases, sex education should be replaced with yoga education.

• In 2013, he was detained at the London's Heathrow Airport by airport authorities for around 8 hours for an unknown reason.

• He urged to stop the release of Aamir Khan's "PK" as he condemned the image of Hinduism shown in the movie.

• In December 2016, Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurveda was fined worth Rs. 11 lakh for "misbranding and putting up misleading advertisements", by a court in Haridwar.

• In June 2020, he launched an Ayurvedic medicine "Coronil" and claimed that it would cure the patients infected with the COVID-19. Following the launch of the medicine, he received heavy criticism for making fake claims without performing a legitimate clinical trial before the launch of the medicine. The Union government, Uttarakhand government, and the AYUSH Ministry distanced themselves from Baba's claim and put a blanket ban on medicine's advertisements. • In May 2021, IMA Uttarakhand slapped a Rs 1,000 crore defamation notice on Baba Ramdev over his remarks on allopathic medicines for treatment of the COVID-19 cases. In the notice, IMA Uttarakhand stated that if Baba Ramdev would not post a video condemning his statements on allopathic medicine, or tender a written apology within the next 15 days, then a sum of Rs 1000 crore will be demanded from him. On 23 May 2021, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan called Rmdev's statement on allopathic medicine "extremely unfortunate" and asked him to withdraw the remark. • On 5 February 2023, he was booked for allegedly promoting enmity and outraging religious feelings at a meeting of seers in Rajasthan's Barmer district. At the seer meeting on 2 February 2023, while comparing Hinduism to Islam and Christianity, he said that Muslims always resorted to terror and abducting Hindu women. On 21 November 2023, the Supreme Court of India warned Patanjali Ayurved of a Rs. 1 crore penalty for each false claim in its advertisements. The court issued its judgement in response to the petitions filed by the state units of the Indian Medical Association regarding Patanjali Ayurved's advertisement titled “Misconceptions spread by allopathy: Save yourself and the country from the misconceptions spread by pharma and medical industry,” which was published on 10 July 2022; the accusations against Patanjali Ayurved was of conducting a “smear campaign” and making false claims against evidence-based medicine. The court not only warned of the penalty but also directed the company to stop making false claims and creating misleading advertisements. [6]Mint On 27 February 2024, the Supreme Court of India issued a contempt notice against Patanjali Ayurved and its Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna for publishing advertisements of products, which violated the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 and its Rules.   • In childhood, he remained silent most of the time. He was not obstinate and always remained content.
  • He suffered a paralytic attack in his childhood due to the adverse effect of a medical incident that seriously affected the left side of his body, leaving him paralyzed. He credits yoga for his miraculous recovery from it.
  • According to his parents, once upon a time, some saints came to his village and they recited the messages of Saint Paramhansa. Since then, he decided to be a saint.
  • In a TV reality show, Ramdev disclosed that he used to study by second-hand books. He always stood 1st in the class. He used to keep books clean and the next year, he sold all the books with more price than the market price.
  • When he was 6 years old, he fell off the roof while playing with his sister. He injured his head and bleeding occurred for long. He was almost dead, however, after medication, he recovered soon.
  • When Ramdev turned 7, he faced another life-threatening incident while playing with his friends in a pond. he began to drown in that pond. Upon hearing the commotion of children, a villager saved him.
