ControversiesSued for Stealing Lyrics: In August 2010, Sartaaj and his promoter Mahal Enterprises Ltd. were slapped with a legal notice by poet Tarlok Singh Judge for stealing Judge's lyrics. During a media interaction, Tarlok Singh said that he came to know from a lady that Sartaj had copied the lyrics of his (Tarlok's) ghazal (that Tarlok posted on his social media account) and sung it during a show in Canada, claiming it to be his own words. Following the incident when Tarlok seeked a public apology from Sartaaj, someone from Sartaaj's end assured Tarlok that Sartaaj would clear things once he comes back to India. However, Sartaaj refused to apologise when he returned to India from the US. Judge also alleged that the lyrics of many of Sartaaj's hit songs were stolen from the verses of other poets like Deepak Jataoi, Gurcharan Rampuri, and Utsaad Daman. [6]The Indian Express

Zafarnama Recitation Controversy: In 2020, a complaint was filed against Sartaaj for improper pronouncition of Zafarnama in his song. However, the Akal Takht Sahib gave a clean chit to Sartaaj. [7]News18

Controversy with Isha Rikhi: In 2021, while Satinder Sartaaj was shooting for the music video of his Punjabi song 'Twajjo,' Isha had an argument with him for making her wait for long hours on the sets of the shoot. Later, she walked off the sets of the shoot saying she didn't want to work with Sartaaj. [8]Ghaint Punjab

Live Concert in the US Called-off: In 2022, Sartaaj's live concert that was to be held on 17 April in Houston, Texas, was cancelled after Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Lal Meena wrote to Amit Shah, Home Minister of India, requesting immediate action to stop the concert. In his letter, Meena stated that the concert was organised by Rehan Siddiqui, a Pakistan-origin man living in Houston, who was blacklisted in 2020 on the advice of the Consulate General of India in Houston. Meena further claimed that the proceeds from such events were used by Siddiqui for anti-India activities. [9]India Today
