  • Reportedly, her village, Nawaidh, which is about 100 km from Ranchi and predominantly inhabited by the Adivasi community lacks access to electricity. Once, she said in a media interview that when she won the 2022 Youth National Championships in Bhopal, she had to wait for two days to speak to her mother over the phone due to their home being located in the Naxal-affected Gumla district in Jharkhand. Asha Kiran Barla added in the same conversation that her mother was working hard to improve their home’s electricity situation.
