• Faggan Singh Kulaste has been interested in sports since his college days. He represented his university in many state-level competitions for kabaddi, kho-kho, and volleyball.

• Faggan served as the president of the Akhil Bharatiya Adivasi Vikas Parishad, Madhya Pradesh, in 1980. He also served as the vice-president of Akhil Bhartiya Adivasi Vikas Parishad, Delhi.

• Faggan defeated the INC candidate Dayal Singh Tumrachi by a margin of 3,622 votes in the 1990 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, which he contested from the Niwas constituency on a ticket from the BJP.
