- Laert Vasili grew up in Tiranë, Sarandë, and Delvinë in Albania, as his parents were officers in the Albanian military and frequently moved due to their work.
- Vasili developed an interest in acting at a very young age. By the time he was 16 and still in high school, he was already playing lead roles in various school theatre productions.
- When he was 19, he earned a spot at the Academy of Arts (now the University of Arts) in Tirana.
- In 1994, Vasili moved from Albania to Greece to study acting at the National Theatre of Greece Drama School (GNT Drama School) in Athens, where he ranked second out of 750 applicants.
