  • She is of German, English, French, and Slovak-Hungarian descent.
  • She grew up on her ancestral five-acre, non-working farm in Copley, Ohio where her family has been living since the 1800s.
  • Her great-grandfather served as the constable of Copley.
  • She was raised as a catholic and would often ask her parents about the end of the world
  • Her father ran their family’s auto parts store and has worked as an art museum janitor. Her mother worked as an ER (Emergency Room) nurse at the Cleveland Clinic.
  • In July 1983, her family adopted her sister Morena from El Salvador, which was going through a civil war at the time.

  • Carrie earned the nickname, ‘Messy Bossy’ because of her occasional inelegance.
  • After watching her first play ‘Babes in Toyland’ when she was 10 years old, she decided to join a community theatre. Later, when she asked permission from her mother to audition for the theatre, her mother denied it due to her work schedule.
