Controversies	• Remarks about abuse in the Malyalam film industry During an interview in 2022, she remarked that victims of abuse should either file a complaint with the police or with the women's commision rather than going to WCC (Women in Cinema Collective), a Malyalam film industry organisation formed after a case of abduction and sexual assault of a prominent actress. Accepting the presence of casting couch in the Malyalam film industry, she claimed that no one would force themselves on others without their consent. She further talked about #MeToo movement and claimed that she finds it illogical that victims of abuse wait for years to file a complaint against their abuser. Her remarks were criticised by the members of film industry and several social media users with many claiming that she was blaming the victims. • FIR for derogatory remarks In 2024, an FIR was filed against her under the Section 79 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which refers to "word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman" after the complainant alleged that her remarks during her appearance on a YouTube channel were derogatory and violating the modesty of women.
