Controversies	• Allegedly filed false cases against her husband seeking alimony On 23 March 2025, her husband, Prasanna Sankar, in an X (formerly Twitter) thread accused her of filing false cases against him, including a case of kidnapping their son, in order to gain their son's custody. He claimed that although he had filed for divorce in India, she filed for divorce in America for higher alimony. He further alleged that she had an extra marital affair with a person named Anoop Kuttysankaran and had booked a room for him in a hotel. He uploaded a screenshot of their WhatsApp conversation on X and claimed that it was sent to him by Anoop's wife, Roshna. Dhivya denied the allegations and claimed that the messages were fabricated.

• She was a research intern at IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), Madras, from May 2008 to July 2008. As an intern, she designed a tunable ultra-wide band amplifier for a biomedical heart-rate sensor.

• In April 2025, she denied his allegations and levelled several allegations against him in a press conference, including being pressured by her husband to open their marriage. She claimed that her husband encouraged her to sleep with his friends.

• She also alleged that Prasanna had forced her to engage in sexual activity during her recovery from childbirth complications and had threatened her in an email in 2019 to engage in sexual activities outside of marriage when she refused.

• She acknowledged that although Prasanna apologised for his email, he displayed a controlling behaviour.

• She alleged that her husband had recorded several videos of her using hidden cameras, further claiming in the press conference that her husband had made pornographic videos of her and distributed them.

• She also alleged that her husband had moved the family from California to Washington, and later to Singapore, to save taxes.

• During the court testimony, she revealed that she had renounced her Indian citizenship for US citizenship and was planning to raise her family in the US before moving to Singapore.
