  • Reddy completed an MPhil degree on ‘The Sun in Modern Telugu Poetry’ in 1981 and a Ph.D. on ‘Modern Poetry – Reality – Surrealism’ in 1986 from Osmania University.
  • He later founded an organisation named Navasahiti and Medak Study Circle and a magazine named Rose.

  • His renowned collection of poetry includes ‘Diviti’ (1974), ‘Bhoomi Swapnam’ (1987), and ‘Nadi Puttuvadi’ (2007).
  • Reddy taught in Medak, Telangana, from 1984 to 1991.
  • He then worked as a Telugu lecturer at the Government Degree College in Siddipet, Telangana, until 2012.
  • In August 1997, he wrote a poetry called ‘Nageti salalo na Telangana.’ He wrote it in just an hour.
  • Reddy wrote ‘Nageti salalo na Telangana’ to express his vision of having a special Telangana movement. He also described Telangana’s culture in this poem.

  • In 2011, Reddy appeared in the Telugu film ‘Jai Bolo Telangana,’ featuring his song Oka Puvvu Oka Navvu.

  • In 2014, he became a member of a committee, which decided on whether Telugu language textbooks should be in the spoken Telangana dialect or the traditional ‘Sanskritised’ Telugu.
  • In 2015, he joined a Telangana government panel to redesign the recruitment exam syllabus, replacing the earlier Andhra Pradesh-based format with a Telangana one.
  • In 2016, Reddy was awarded the Vishista Puraskaram by Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PSTU), becoming the first person from outside Hyderabad to receive this award.
  • On 2 May 2017, Reddy became the first Chairman of the Telangana Sahitya Akademi, which was set up to promote research, study, publication, and the spread of the Telugu language.
  • In August 2017, he led a panel responsible for the selecting people eligible for the Kaloji Narayana Rao Award.
  • Reddy served as an in-charge for the World Telugu Conference from 15 December 2017 to 19 December 2017.
