Anrich Nortje started playing cricket at a very young age.

He is a fitness enthusiast and while he was in school, he was guided by biokineticist, Runeshan Moodley.

When he was in his 11th standard, he suffered from a collarbone injury while playing rugby, after which, he decided to focus only on his cricket career.

Anrich Nortje made his first-class debut in 2013 for Eastern Province against Namibia at Windhoek, Namibia.

Earlier, he used to play cricket at the Madibaz Cricket Club.

He was also named in the Eastern Province squad for the 2016 Africa T20 Cup.
