• Asha Kiran Barla is an Indian tribal athlete from Jharkhand. In February 2023, she came into the limelight after winning gold medals in the 800-meter and 1500-meter race events at the 5th Khelo India Youth Games held in Bhopal.

• In 2017, she participated in the under-14 girls 600m race event organised at the National Inter-district Championships in Jharkhand and won.

• In 2018, Asha Kiran Barla earned her first medal at the East Zone Junior Athletics Championships organised in Patna.

• Reportedly, her village, Nawaidh, which is about 100 km from Ranchi and predominantly inhabited by the Adivasi community lacks access to electricity. Once, she said in a media interview that when she won the 2022 Youth National Championships in Bhopal, she had to wait for two days to speak to her mother over the phone due to their home being located in the Naxal-affected Gumla district in Jharkhand. Asha Kiran Barla added in the same conversation that her mother was working hard to improve their home’s electricity situation.
