Controversies | • Criticised for promoting Abu Dhabi In 2024, Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky were cast in a tourism advertisement for the United Arab Emirates capital Abi Dhabi and were slammed by fans concerned about 'human rights abuses' in the country because UAE has long been criticised for its human rights abuses, including against women and the LGBTQIA+ community.
