• Gulveer Singh  joined the Indian Army at the age of 17 through the sports quota.

• He is part of the Grenadiers Regiment of the Indian Army and finished his basic military training at Grenadiers Regimental Centre in Jabalpur.

• In 2022, Gulveer trained for international tournaments at the SAI NS Southern Centre in Bangalore.

• In July 2023, he, along with other Indian athletes, attended a 10-week training camp in the high altitude of Colorado Springs in the USA.

• During the 26th National Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championship 2023, Gulveer completed the 10,000-meter event in 29:05:90. At that time, this timing was faster than any time recorded in the Asian Games.

• Gulveer Singh has taken part in numerous national and international competitions, including the Asian Games, Indian Championships, Asian Athletics Championships, and Indian National Games.

• In May 2023, Gulveer Singh participated in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter events at the 26th National Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championship 2023 at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Morabadi, Ranchi. • After returning to India with a Bronze medal in 2023, Gulveer Singh was welcomed with a road show in his village.

• During an interview, Gulveer Singh talked about the beginning of his athletic career and revealed that he began by practising running on the footpaths in his village. He said,
  

  I am from a farmer family, I have had to do farming myself. Had a normal life. Seeing that people from every house in the village are in the army, I also started running, due to which I became an athlete.”
