Soon after her birth in Long Beach, California, Kayla Ewell along with her parents moved to Seal Beach, California where Kayla was raised.

During her school days, Kayla Ewell used to take part in many dance competitions and was very passionate about dancing.

During her school days, one day, Kayla saw an audition for a national Broadway tour for a show named ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ and she was really interested to try her hand at the same. The audition was about dancing, singing, stage presence, and storytelling. She told her mother about the same and booked her audition slot.

She cleared her audition for ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ and was selected as one of the choir kids in the back. That was where she began her journey in acting.

In 1999, Kayla Ewell was spotted by a talent agent while taking an acting class at the Orange County Song & Dance Company in Westminster, California and that is when Kayla was asked to go on an audition.
