• Maria has a passion for travelling. She has visited around 25 countries across four continents and has faced challenges like getting mugged, falling ill, being cheated, and even detained.

• Maria once lived in a jungle in Costa Rica for a month, where she caught three bacteria and a parasite. This left her in a wheelchair and diapers for two weeks in a hospital. Her health became so critical that a priest gave her last rites when she was in the hospital.

• She worked as a local childcare coordinator at Centro Social e Paroquial de Cristo Rei, a family daycare service company, from September 2014 and June 2016.

• In September 2016, she joined Ludoteca da Galiza, an organisation providing after-school service, as an assistant teacher. She supported students from Bairro Novo do Pinhal in São João do Estoril with their educational needs; she worked there till June 2019.

• In January 2017, she joined Missão País in Ourique, Beja, Portugal, as a social services volunteer. She worked there until January 2019.

• Maria interned as a wine tourism assistant at Graham’s Port Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, from June 2017 to July 2017. There, she guided tours, managed the reception, and conducted wine tastings.

• In October 2019, Maria joined a tour agency named Cooltour Oporto in Porto as a tour guide and van driver. There, she conducted full-day guided mini-van tours for small groups to the Douro Wine Region Valley. She worked there till October 2020.

• Maria worked as a tour guide at Bluedragon Porto City Tours from April to July 2022. She conducted food and wine-tasting tours and guided walking tours of the city.

• Craveiro again joined Cooltour Oporto in Porto as a tour guide in May 2022. This time, she led city walking tours, private food tours, and full-day tours to the Douro Wine Region Valley by van. She worked there till July 2022.

• In August 2022, Maria started working part-time as a tour leader for Intrepid Travel, leading overnight trips across Portugal and Spain. These trips include ‘Premium Portugal,’ ‘Highlights of Portugal,’ ‘Portugal Food Tour,’ and ‘Highlights of the Azores.’
