- Nandini Sidda Reddy grew up in a middle-class family.
- Reddy’s father, a communist, fought against Razakars, a paramilitary wing of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
- Sidda Reddy attended Osmania University in Hyderabad, Telangana, to pursue Master of Arts.
- He was in this youth when he started writing stories and poetry.
- Reddy completed an MPhil degree on ‘The Sun in Modern Telugu Poetry’ in 1981 and a Ph.D. on ‘Modern Poetry – Reality – Surrealism’ in 1986 from Osmania University.
- He later founded an organisation named Navasahiti and Medak Study Circle and a magazine named Rose.
- He also established Manjeera Writers’ Association.
- Reddy later organised many literary events and published about seven collections of poetry. He also edited the Manjeera bulletin and Soi magazine.
- His renowned collection of poetry includes ‘Diviti’ (1974), ‘Bhoomi Swapnam’ (1987), and ‘Nadi Puttuvadi’ (2007).
