- While Navdeep Singh was in school, a few of his teachers did not select him to participate in sports as he was a dwarf.
- His father was a wrestler. He followed his father’s footsteps and at the age of 8, he started his training in wrestling. In 2010, after he had a back injury, he left wrestling.
- He then participated in the 100 m and 200 m races in Para Athletics Games.
- In the same event he participated in the javelin throw for the first time and won a gold medal in it, he then decided to start his professional training in the javelin throw.
- Initially, he did not have a javelin to practice with, and he used to practice with a ball. Later, his father bought him a javelin for Rs 16000.
- He has been practising javelin throw at Sports Authority of India, Gujarat centre for a few years.
- One of his training sessions includes weightlifting.
- For his performance, he has been felicitated at various events.
- He once shared that after watching the performance of the Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, he got inspired to represent India in para javelin throw competitions.
