• Sarita James is an Indian American entrepreneur, who has also been a business executive, government official, and writer. She is the wife of Vishal Garg, the founder of the mortgage lending company Better.com, New York, US, who was in the news for laying off over 900 of his employees over a single Zoom call in December 2021.

• Sarita James was born in India and raised in the United States of America. While pursuing a bachelor’s in Computer Science from Harvard College she became a Grand prize winner among one million contestants globally for artificial intelligence-driven speech recognition software in 1994 Nobel Prize Ceremonies in Stockholm, Sweden.

• In 1998, Sarita James became a member of Microsoft Corporation where she worked as a program manager and developed technical specifications for Microsoft Office 2003. She also did her part in managing feature work and scheduled driving the work of 15 full-time engineers under her leadership. Sarita worked closely with the divisional management department as the point person for product overviews presented to Bill Gates and executive staff. While working there she also received patents for two technologies core to Microsoft’s .NET development platform.
