  • Shihan Hussaini grew up in Madurai.
  • While he was in school and college, he participated in various extracurricular activities.

  • He then started a rock band named Jet Liners in which he was a guitarist-vocalist and his friend Senthil was a drummer.
  • He did his training in Carnatic vocals under Jeyalakshmi in Madurai.
  • During his college days, he composed a few English songs like Watson and Crick, Mind Raped, Hand in Hand, and Mist in My Mind. He also composed a Tamil song Salla Sallanu.
  • He was also trained in Western vocals.
  • Apart from guitar, he was trained in a few other musical instruments like keyboard and drums.
  • Shihan had conducted a few photography courses for budding photographers.
  • He acted in various Tamil films like Velaikkaran (1987), Paravaigal Palavitham (1988), Vedan (1993), My India (1997), and Chennai City Gangsters (2025).

  • He was trained in Karate and Taekwondo under the founder of Taekwondo General Choi Hong Hi and the chief of World Isshinryu Soke Kichiro Shimabuku in Okinawa, Japan.

  • He was also trained in modern weaponry and delivery systems. He had started a security and bodyguard agency named High Profile.
  • He was the founder and general secretary of The Archery Association of Tamil Nadu- TAAT. He trained more than 7000 archers and some of them participated in the Olympics. The organisation is the only archery association in Tamil Nadu which is recognised and affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Olympic Association and the Archery Association of India.

  • He was a renowned sculptor and built a few well-known sculptures.
  • He was a portraitist and gained immense popularity with his paintings and sketches.

  • In February 2015, he crucified himself praying that Jayalalitha won that year’s elections. He wore a T-shirt imprinted with her photo during the Crucifixion. His associates nailed six-inch iron nails in his hands and feet and he remained in that position for six minutes and seven seconds. After that, he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. When Jayalalithaa came to know about it, she asked him to stop doing crazy things. He was considered the only Muslim to crucify himself. Some people called him foolish and abnormal to do such acts. However, he said it was only his love for Jayalalitha.

  • In 2016, he was appointed as the mind coach for the Korean Archery team at the Rio Olympics.
  • In his leisure time, he enjoyed travelling to different places and reading books.
