• He spent 25 years at Maruti Suzuki, as a Regional Manager, National Sales & Network Head and as Executive Director.

• In Dec 2019, he Joined Hyundai Motor India as Director, where he was responsible for pushing product sales, strengthening brand perception, and enhancing customer engagement.

• In Jan 2023, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Whole-Time Director at Hyundai Motor India Ltd.

• On Oct 14, 2025, Hyundai Motor India’s Board approved the succession plan naming Tarun Garg as the next MD & CEO and succeeding Unsoo Kim (who returned to Hyundai Motor Company in South Korea).
