- Abhishek Singh Thakur is an Indian kabaddi player. He came into the limelight when he participated as a raider in the 6th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) in 2018.
- He began playing kabaddi at the age of 14 when his school sports coach suggested him to join the kabaddi team for district tournaments. Later, he joined GS Kabaddi Academy in Khurja to get professional training and started representing his school in inter-school competitions.
- According to him, he liked playing handball during his school days.
- Thereafter, he was selected for the kabaddi team to represent Uttar Pradesh state after his good performance at the domestic level kabaddi championships. Abhishek’s performance in the nationals opened doors for him in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League.
- U Mumba bought Abhishek Singh for Rs. 42.80 Lakh in the 6th season and kept him on the team for the next PKL season. In his first season, he earned a total of 53 tackle points in 5 matches, including 2 Super 10s.
