- Jamie and his father are both ardent supporters of the football club West Ham United.
- Jamie got the inspiration to pursue cricket further after watching the 2005 Ashes series. His parents were not very keen about cricket but they signed him up for a cricket camp at Sutton Cricket Club.
- Jamie’s professional cricket journey began at a young age. He first represented Surrey at the Under-9 level and quickly progressed through the age-group teams.
- Apart from cricket, Jamie has also played football for the club AFC Wimbledon till the age of 15.
- At the age of 17, Jamie Smith made his T20 cricket debut for Surrey against Middlesex at Lord’s in the T20 Blast on 5 July 2018.
