• Shin Se-kyung was born and raised in Yangcheon, Seoul, South Korea.

• At the age of 8, Shin made her debut in the South Korean entertainment industry, where she featured on the poster for Seo Taiji’s solo album Take Five.

• In the South Korea, Se-kyung was known for her appearance in the popular children’s education show Popopo. As a child artist, she hosted many reality children shows.

• In 2004, she made her acting debut with the film My Little Bride, in a short role. Later she appeared in small roles in many films. She also made a contract with a talent management agency, Namoo Actors.

• In 2006, Se-kyung was selected as the advertising model in a school uniform company, School Looks.

• In 2009 she got her breakthrough role as a housemaid in a popular TV sitcom, High Kick Through the Roof.

• After the success of the show, Shin appeared on numerous television commercials and print advertisement. She also became one of the most sought celebrity endorsers in South Korea.

• In 2011, she bagged a lead role in a action film Hindsight, opposite Song Kang-ho.

• In 2012, Shin Se-kyung made her singing debut and released her first digital single, titled You Were Sweet, which she recorded to promote a coffee franchise.

• In 2013, she returned to TV and appeared in a show, titled When a Man Falls in Love, opposite Song Seung-heon; however, she received criticism for her passive character she portrayed in the show.

• In 2019, she bagged a historical role in drama, titled Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung.

• In 2021, her contract with Namoo Actors expired and she signed an exclusive contract with another management agency, named EDAM Entertainment.

• In 2023, French luxury accessory brand Roger Vivier, appointed her as their Korean ambassador. She represented the brand at the Paris Fashion Week in 2024.

• In 2024, Shin Se-kyung departed from EDAM Entertainment and signed with The Present Company.

• In 2026, Shin Se-kyung came into news, after a buzz sparked about her and Korean Boy band artist, Jin dating rumour. Their dating rumour s began after a post on Nate Pann went viral. The post shared several pictures of them together. In the pictures, Shin Se-kyung was allegedly seen attending one of Jin’s concerts, receiving BTS’s new “Swim” merchandise, and even wearing the same jacket as Jin.

• However as of 9 April 2026, neither Shin Se-kyung nor Jin commented on these rumours yet. In 2025, Shin and Jin worked together in a song ‘Don’t Say You Love Me,’ sung by Jin.
