• In June 2026, his Saajan Ghar co-actress Sanchita Ugale was found dead at her resisdence in Maharashtra, and the police began investigating the case.

• Soon after her death, social media users started linking Ujjwal Sharma’s connection with her death. However, he denied all the allegation stating that he and Sanchita were not dating to each other. He added that Sanchita was dealing with personal issues related to her past relationship and TV show’s production was also helping her. In an interview he said,

 In fact, she was dating somebody else and was apparently living with that per son. I haven’t spoken to her in a long time; around two to two-and-a-half months. I am currently in my hometown and have not been in proper contact with her. She was going through a difficult phase because of her ex-boyfriend, and she was seeking help as well.”

• On 16 June 2026, actress Indraxi Kanjilal, a close friend of Sanchita Ugale accused Ujjwal of mentally harassing Sanchita during the shooting of Saajan Ghar. In an interview, she shared,

After Saajan Ghar went on air, I received a call from casting directors who were looking for a new female lead and wanted me to audition. I was surprised because Sanchita was already playing the lead role. That’s when I called her, and she narrated the entire ordeal. She told me that she was being harassed by her co-actor, Ujjwal Sharma, and it had begun affecting her health. She didn’t want to leave the show, but the trauma left her with no choice.”

• Indraxi added that,

Ujjwal had apparently borrowed money from Sanchita and later behaved rudely with her. When she asked him to return the money, he lashed out, humiliated her, and even threatened to hit her. I have screenshots of their chats where he used inappropriate language and insulted her.”

• However, as of 18 June 2026, the allegations against Ujjwal Sharma remain under investigation with no official authority found him guilty in Sanchita Ugale’s suicide case.
