Some Lesser Known Facts About Rishikanth

• Rishikanth was born in Bahrain into a Tamil family. He was later brought up in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu.

• Since his childhood, Rishikanth was interested in cinema. In an interview, he shared that when he was child, he once believed that cartoons were real and were shot at actual location. He added that later he learned that Chennai was the centre for film shooting.

• In early 2010s, he began his entertainment career and joined an online comedy group, Temple Monkeys. His work with the group helped him gain experience in acting and comedy before he moved into mainstream films.

• During his early struggle in Chennai, Rishikanth took up different jobs while trying to build a career in cinema. In an interview, he revealed that he worked at Cafe Coffee Day and also delivered water cans, earning around Rs 300 a day.

• During this period, he also worked as a junior artist in films.

• In 2015, Rishikanth made his acting debut with the Tamil anthology film Bench Talkies. In the film he appeared in the segment Puzhu.

• In 2017, he appeared in the film Yaanum Theeyavan as a junior artist.

• In 2018, Rishikanth appeared in a Tamil film, Irumbu Thirai as Kesavan. This was one of his early opportunities that brought him recognition in Tamil cinema.

• In 2022, he made his web series debut and appeared in Telugu web series, Locked as Sagar.

• In the same year, he played character of Murali in the film, Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal (2022), directed by Vishal Venkat. • In September 2026, Rishikanth appeared in another major project Dorothy, written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film had its world premiere in the Centrepiece section at the Toronto International Film Festival before its Indian theatrical release.
