  • Bara Sapoko Ndiaye spent his childhood living with his mother and brothers in a small village near Dakar.
  • He was hooked on football from his childhood. Whether at home, at school or during free time, the ball was always around.
  • He was primarily playing with his cousins and with the other kids of his neighbourhood.
  • He started out with Thiès and Senegal Elite Stars in Senegal, and later moved to the Gambinos Stars Africa academy in Gambia.
  • After spotting him during some training there, he was subjected to a 3 week trial and joined that academy in 2022.
  • With the help of Gambinos he was able to find a place to stay, food and schooling.
  • His mother remained in Senegal and for him that was not easy. The two speak on the telephone almost daily even today.
  • Gambinos Stars Africa signed a new cooperation agreement with Red&Gold Football, a partnership between the German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and American side Los Angeles FC which seeks out promising young players all over the world in 2023.
