• After completing his formal education, Chikkanna began participating in comedy shows through Drishya Kalavide, a visual artist based in Mysore.

• He has performed in many stage shows during festivals such as Karnataka Rajyotsava.

• Chikkanna then got a chance to perform on a comedy show on Udaya TV. Chikkanna played many villain roles during his time on television.

• South Indian actor Yash noticed him during a skit for the 75-year Amrutha Mahotsava celebrations in Mysore. Yash cast him in his 2011 film Kirataka.
