- Gaurav Tiwari was born into a family who did not believe in ghosts or paranormal activities.
- He started his acting career at the of 16, but he did not get much success in the acting field so he became a commercial pilot.
- To study aviation, he moved to the USA and rented an apartment in Florida, US. One day, while he was in his flat along with his friends, they felt the presence of a young girl in their apartment.
- Some days, Gaurav used to feel that someone was whispering in his ears. Gradually, he started believing in ghosts and paranormal activities. He did not vacate the house but started observing everything carefully.
- To know more about paranormal activities, he left his aviation course in between and enrolled in a course on paranormal activities.
- He also visited the ParaNexus Association in the USA to learn more about paranormal activities.
- He wanted to become and actor. He appeared in a few Hindi films like ’16 December’ (2002) and ‘Tango Charlie’ (2005).
- After completing his course, he returned to India in 2009.
- After returning to India, he started exploring famous haunted places in India and other countries. He even had some gadgets which tracked paranormal activities.
- He was a Certified Lead Paranormal Investigator (CLPI), Certified Paranormal Investigator (CPI), and Certified UFO Field Investigator (CUFI).
- He explored around 6000 haunted places worldwide. He was known for exploring the Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan.

- On 7 July 2016, he was found dead in the bathroom of his home in Dwarka, Delhi. There was a thin black line mark on his body. According to the police, the cause of death was asphyxia (death from suffocation, lack of Oxygen).
- His family members said that they heard a heavy sound (of something fallen) from the bathroom at 11 am, they opened the bathroom door forcefully and found Gaurav lying on the floor.
- His wife said that he had told her that there was some negative energy which was pulling Gaurav towards itself.
- Whereas, according to some sources, as he used to work late at night, problems started arising between Gaurav and his wife. Also, he was not getting good work which led to him in depression after which he committed suicide.
