• In 2018, Mary Sickler was a semi-finalist at Miss Texas Teen USA. In 2019, she placed 3rd runner-up at Miss Texas Teen USA and 2nd runner-up at Miss Nebraska Teen USA.

• In 2022, she competed at Miss Nebraska USA and reached the semi-finals.

• In 2023, Mary earned the title of 1st runner-up at Miss Texas USA.

• In 2024, she again competed in Miss Texas USA and finished as 2nd runner-up.

• Mary Sickler began losing her hair in December 2024. She initially noticed a small circular bald spot on the top of her head, which she thought was caused by styling her hair in a tight ponytail.

• As her hair loss spread to her eyebrows, eyelashes, and body, she was initially diagnosed with alopecia areata, which later progressed to alopecia universalis, causing complete hair loss across her scalp and body.

• Sickler was devastated by her hair loss and worried about her modelling career with a top New York agency, so she initially kept her condition secret.

• In May 2025, she was named first runner-up at Miss Texas USA, and in July 2025, she won the Miss Nevada USA title, which qualified her to compete in Miss USA.

• In July 2025, Sickler chose to shave the remaining 50 hairs on her head, fully embracing her condition.

• In September 2025, Mary Sickler shared her alopecia journey on Instagram to inspire and give hope to others facing challenges.

• On 22 October 2025, during the Miss USA preliminaries in Reno, Mary Sickler walked the stage without a wig for the first time, becoming the first contestant to appear without hair.
