- Muhammad Abbas moved to New Zealand from Pakistan as a 1-year-old when his father, Azhar Abbas, joined Wellington’s Karori Cricket Club.
- He hails from Roshanpur, a small village in Khanewal District, Pakistan.
- He initially played with a tape ball and later began training at the Eden Roskill District Cricket Club.
- He was only 11 years old when he scored a century for Western Districts against Central Districts in an Auckland year seven tournament.
- He later played in the first King’s College XI for 4 years under the coaching of ex-New Zealand player New Zealand spinner Dipak Patel.
- In December 2022, he, along with his family, moved from Auckland to Wellington after his father was appointed as Wellington’s fast bowling coach.
- In the 2023 Under-19 Men’s Nationals 50-over Tournament, he scored back-to-back hundreds for Wellington, with 101 runs not out in 68 balls against Northern Districts and 103 runs against Central Districts.
