Controversies	Slapping a journalist In 2008, a magazine published photos of Niurka with her children and claimed she was teaching them to smoke and drink. She threatened to slap the journalist who made such claims. In May 2009, during an interview on La tijera (Telefutura), she slapped the journalist, but later forgave him, claiming those photos were false. Bathing naked in Jacuzzi with her son In March 2014, she posted photos on X (then Twitter) showing herself bathing with her son, Emilio, naked in a Jacuzzi. • Niurka Marcos was born in Cuba and worked as a dancer in the Tropicana nightclub in Havana.
