- Shivansh Thakur is a professional Indian Kabaddi player who came into the limelight for playing for the team ‘U Mumba’ in the Pro Kabaddi League.
- Shivansh started his kabaddi journey when he was just 12 years old as his father and brother were already kabaddi players themselves. Shivansh used to accompany them for their practices and that’s how he got inclined towards the sport.
- Shivansh Thakur made his national championship with the under-14 National Kabaddi Championship in which he played at the right cover position as the defender and later he cleared his trials for the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and got admission into the Himachal hostel of SAI for his professional training.
- In 2017, Shivansh participated in the 29th Sub Junior National Kabaddi Championship which took place in Jharkhand, and he represented the Himachal State Kabaddi team. After the championship, Shivansh took part in multiple state-level as well as national-level championships.
- In 2022, Shvansh Thakur’s Himachal team took part in the fifth Khelo India Youth Games, and that’s where his performance was highlighted after which he was picked by a Mumbai-based team ‘U Mumba’ for the Pro Kabaddi League.
- In the same year, he also took part in the 69th Senior National Kabaddi Championship which took place in Dadri, Haryana, followed by making his Pro Kabaddi League debut in season 9 of the league as the right cover defender of the team ‘U Mumba.’ Shivansh Thakur was bought at the price of Rs. 8.78 lakhs, and he performed in more than 5 matches and scored an overall tackle strike rate of 50% in the season.
- In the following year, considering his amazing performance in season 9, Shivansh was retained by the team ‘U Mumba’ for season 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League. He bagged the ‘Defender of the Day’ title multiple times throughout the league.
