• Shubham Dubey is an Indian cricketer. He has represented Vidarbha in List-A and T20 tournaments. During the IPL auction for the 2024 season, Rajasthan Royals acquired him.

• He had an interest in studies and used to perform well in school. During his teen years, he played cricket in his locality with his friends and developed an interest in the sport.

• He started playing cricket in tennis ball tournaments. Later, he was provided with cricket kits, equipment, and diet by an advocate named Sujit Jaiswal. Dubey decided to become a professional cricketer when he started playing for the Vidarbha Under-23 team.

• Former Vidarbha wicketkeeper, Aniruddha Chore, later told Dubey about the Times Shield tournament in Mumbai. Dubey later started playing in the Times Shield Tournament for six months, earning Rs 10,000 per month and six months in tennis ball tournaments in Nagpur for the remaining six months of the year.

• His friend and cricketer, Rohit Kaisalwar, later helped him to secure a playing opportunity for the Royal Cricket Association Club. He later played in many tournaments such as the Arjun Aamdar Chashak Tournament in 2019, the YSBS Gondia Tournament in 2020, and the VCA T20 Tournament in 2021.

• Shubham made his List-A debut for Vidarbha in 2021 and later debuted in T20 as well. He performed well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) in 2023, scoring 225 runs in 7 matches at an average of 73.76 and a strike rate of 187.28. He hit 3 fours and 6 sixes during his knock of 58 runs off 20 balls against Bengal, which was the joint fastest half-century for Vidarbha in the tournament.

• Rajasthan Royals (RR) acquired Shubham Dubey for Rs 5.8 crores, 29 times his base price of Rs 20 lakhs during the auction for the 2024 IPL season. Shubham said after the auction that he was happy to be bought off for such a huge amount which he did not expect.
