Some Lesser Known Facts About Shubhi Sharma

• When Shubhi Sharma was around one year old, her family shifted to Delhi from Bihar.

• She did her schooling and graduation in Delhi.

• While she was in class 8, she became friends with transgenders. She started performing with her transgender group in various school functions.

• Her eldest brother did not like her, and he used to feel ashamed of her because of her gender.

• Her neighbours and her eldest brother used to troll her by calling her Meetha. She was not even allowed to meet people during festivals.

• She became so frustrated that once she ran from her home and moved to her friend’s house. She even bought a ticket to Mumbai to make her career in acting. Her friends advised her to drop the idea and asked her to return to her home.

• Saddened by her brother’s behaviour towards her, she tried to commit suicide several times.

• A few days later, on the eve of Diwali, her eldest brother asked her to stay in her room and not celebrate the festival with neighbours. She became so upset over this that she escaped from her home and moved to her friend’s room. After a few hours, when she returned to her home, her brother did not allow her to enter the house.

• Shubhi then packed her bags and moved to Mumbai.

• In Mumbai, she visited various production houses for work, but she failed to get any work.

• She then worked as a waitress for a month.

• A few days later, she met a transgender there and with her Shubhi started working as a beggar. On the first day of begging, she received Rs 70.

• At that time, she lied to her parents that she was doing a good job for a salary of Rs 8000.

• For her living, she then started connecting with people on dating apps and from there, she used to get money in exchange for sexual favours.

• Within a few months, she met a casting agent for transgenders and got a role of a dancer in the Hindi TV serial ‘Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki.’

• She did an acting course at the National School of Drama.

• She has played roles in various Hindi TV serials like ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2’ (2020), ‘Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2’ (2021), ‘Sasural Simar Ka 2’ (2021), and ‘Zindagi Mere Ghar Aana’ (2021).
