- Smaran Ravichandran was a very naughty child. So, his parents sent him to learn cricket at the local academy, Vultures Cricket Club.
- As a kid, he liked watching left-handed batsmen like Kumar Sangakkara and Michael Hussey play.
- He started cricket training at the age of 7 and was a very impatient batsman when he started.
- In a 2018 Under-16 KSCA inter-club tournament, he scored a hundred, a double century, and a triple hundred.
- When he became the captain of the Karnataka Under-16 team, he scored 167 runs against Andhra Pradesh, 203 runs not out against Goa and 150 runs not out against Puducherry.
- In 2019, he was a member of the squad chosen by BCCI to train at the U-19 boys’ camps held at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
- He scored 829 runs in the 2023-2024 season, helping the Karnataka Under-23 team to win their first CK Nayudu Trophy.
- In the 2024 Maharaja T20 Trophy, he represented Gulbarga Mystics and scored 302 runs at an average of 43.14 and a strike rate of 145.19.
