  • Sudan Gurung was born in a middle-class family in Nepal.
  • Before 2015, he was employed in event management, and his lifestyle was linked with parties and clubs. He worked as a DJ and also owns a club.
  • In 2015, when a major earthquake struck Nepal, he decided to become a social worker to help those in need. A call for volunteers was made through his social media accounts, and about 200 people gathered.
  • According to some reports, his own child died during the natural disaster.
  • Relief work in hospitals and affected areas was carried out by the volunteers even though professional training was not available.
  • A group named Hami Nepal was formed in 2015 and was later officially registered in 2020 as an NGO. By that time, more than 1,600 members were enrolled in the organisation.
