- Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke’s father competed in the ‘Kersari Kusthi’, a regional wrestling championship in Maharashtra; however, he was unable to pursue the sport due to financial limitations.
- Vaishnavi tried her luck at different sports but finally decided to pick Hockey as her profession. She made her father’s dream come true by playing professional hockey for the Indian team.
