  • Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke started playing hockey at the tender age of 8 by watching her father play for fun. Eventually, she started playing with and against boys in the field.
  • Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke’s father competed in the ‘Kersari Kusthi’, a regional wrestling championship in Maharashtra; however, he was unable to pursue the sport due to financial limitations.
  • Vaishnavi tried her luck at different sports but finally decided to pick Hockey as her profession. She made her father’s dream come true by playing professional hockey for the Indian team.
  • Her father enrolled her in the Government Sports Academy in Pune for basic hockey training in 2011, and then transferred her to the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune, for professional hockey training.
  • In 2017, she took part in the 7th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women’s National Championship which was held in Ramanathapuram.
  • In 2019, Vaishnavi participated in the 9th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship which was held in Kollam, Kerala.

  • In 2023, she was selected for the Indian hockey team squad for the 19th Asian Games, which were held in Hangzhou, China. The Indian hockey team earned the bronze medal in the championship, defeating Japan by the score of 2-1.

  • In 2023, Vaishnavi made her senior team debut in the South Africa tour, which was held in Cape Town. She was chosen as a midfield player and scored three goals in the event.
