Lesser-Known Facts About Virat Singh

  • Virat Singh has been passionate about cricket since his childhood, but, he wasn’t good at studies. Venkataram came to talk to his father. His coach said, “Your son possesses a lot of talent, leave him to me.” Just two years later, Virat started playing at the district level and did well, consequently, he was selected in the Jharkhand Under-16 team.
  • Virat and his brother used to play cricket in the yard of their house. Virat’s father was fed up with the regularly smashed windowpanes in his house, so he decided to admit his sons to the open Jharkhand Cricket Academy.
  • Virat began his first-class career for Jharkhand at the age of 15 in 2014, he scored his maiden first-class hundred the same year in December, in a match against Kerela.
