Controversies | • Firing an employee for not following Scientology: Eric Berg attracted controversy when Brenda Valentine, who worked for him, complained against him in 2017. In her complaint, Brenda levied a series of allegations against Eric and said that Eric terminated her services after she refused to follow Scientology. She also claimed that Eric and Karen used to force her to attend Scientology courses held in Washington, D. C. She also said that Eric used to force her to listen to him read from different Scientology books. [4]YouTube • Allegations by Ian Rafalko: Eric Berg's son Ian Rafalko posted a video on TikTok and Twitter in May 2021 claiming that he followed Scientology because his family pressurized him in doing so. He further claimed that when he left Scientology and moved away from his family, his father visited him and angrily knocked on the door of his house but when the neighbours threatened to call the cops, Eric had to leave. Ian says his father has no compassion for humans and is selfish. He further claimed that Eric often donates a huge amount of money to the Scientology churches, the money that he earns from selling his products online. [5]Ian Rafalko's YouTube video [6]YouTube In the video, while talking about it, he said, "So after I make this video and it goes public my life will be over. That uh… my life’s been over for a while, so. I thought I might at least go out with a big bang. Some of you might know this guy, Eric. He has a few thousand videos on YouTube. He is pretty popular at this point. He gives a lot of health advice. He is a chiropractor, as you can see, so… Not only is this man a Scientologist but he donates copious amounts. His profit margins are insane, they are through the roof. So he’s donated probably around 7 plus million dollars to Scientology? And every product of his that you buy, you donate to Scientology as well, because he has a separate savings account just for that. He is an incredibly selfish and void-of-empathy human being. And the reason I know is because he is my father.” Ian also claimed that his father wrote a mail to Twitter asking them to remove the video that Ian had posted. [7]YouTube |
