Some Lesser Known Facts About Nawab

  • Nawab is a Punjabi singer who is known for the chartbuster song Expert Jatt (2018).
  • He inclined towards music at a very young age, when he was 8 or 9, listening to the legendary Punjabi singer Kuldeep Manak. He gave his first stage performance when he was in Class 8.
  • He moved to Chandigarh for a while when he was in Class 12 to receive coaching to get into an engineering college.
  • While pursuing Civil Engineering at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, Nawab lived at Kuldeep Manak’s home. Kuldeep Manak was suffering from acute illness during those days. Therefore, Nawab spent his time there helping Yudhvir Manak (Kuldeep Manak’s son) in taking care of his father. Kuldeep Manak passed away on 28 November 2011 due to pneumonia after which Nawab continued to stay there with Yudhvir Manak.
  • After completing his degree, he moved to Chandigarh to pursue music as a full-fledged career.
  • Soon, he collaborated with the entertainment company Ishqpura 07 Films and started making the video of the song Expert Jatt.
  • Although he ventured into the entertainment industry around 2010, his works before the song Expert Jatt never materialized.
  • Nawab faced numerous hurdles in making the song Expert Jatt. Earlier, its music video was shot in Dubai and the song was sung on a high music scale. However, he had to drop its release when his close acquaintances recommended him to lower the scale after listening to the song. Then, lip sync issues led him to shoot the music video once again, but due to lack of finances, it was shot in India. In fact, in an interview, he revealed  Nawab had to take a loan for completing the song. At first, he asked his family to invest in his project, but as they were already against his decision to become a singer, they refused to lend him money. Only his mother knew that had raised a loan for the song.
  • He quit his job a year before the release of Expert Jatt to make the song.
  • In 2018, he struck stardom with his first single Expert Jatt released under the record label Juke Dock. The song featured music by Mista Baaz.
  • In the same year, he voiced the song Follow, which was released under the record label T-Series Apna Punjab. The song featured music by Mista Baaz.
  • In 2019, he released the songs ‘Gedi Route’ under T-Series Apna Punjab, ‘Tattoo Song’ under YRF Digital, and ‘Nawabi’ under Big Studios (his own production house).
