Controversies | • Charged for violating the FEMA norms: A congress leader, Bakka Judson, registered a complaint to ED (Enforcement Directorate) against Puri Jagannadh and his business partner Charmme Kaur clamming that the money invested by them in the film ‘Liger’ was black. After investigation it was found that the money invested in the film was first sent to Dubai and later returned as funding for the film. Later, Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur were charged by ED for violating the FEMA norms. • Commented on the idea of marriage: In September 2020, in his podcast show ‘Puri Musings,’ Puri Jagannadh called the marriage an ‘outdated’ idea, and said that one should not marry if wanted to achieve bigger goals in life. He criticised the idea of marriage in his podcast show by citing various examples including of Jesus and Lord Buddha, and said, "Marriage is out dated. If the concept of marriage is good, then Jesus would’ve married 10 times. It was only after leaving his wife that Prince Siddhartha became Buddha. - Puri Jagannadh is an Indian filmmaker. He has done more than forty films in the Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada film industries.
- He started assisting the filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma in various Telugu films soon after completing his studies.
- In 1989, he made a special appearance in the song “Botany” from the film ‘Shiva’ starring Nagarjuna. It was his first appearance on screen.
