• Asmi Jain, an ardent coder from India, made waves in the tech world when she emerged as one of the winners of Apple’s WWDC23 Swift Student Challenge. Her accomplishment stemmed from designing an innovative app playground, envisioned as a meaningful contribution to the healthcare field.

• She hails from Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

• Asmi, during her tenure at Medi-Caps University, learned of a challenging situation. Her friend’s uncle underwent brain surgery due to which he got facial paralysis and eye misalignment. Intent on helping out, Asmi turned to her coding skills and began working on an app. She designed an engaging and interactive app playground that tracks eye movements as users try to follow a ball moving around on the screen. The main goal of this app is to bolster eye muscle strength. Recognizing the app’s potential to make a difference, Asmi entered it into Apple’s WWDC23 Swift Student Challenge. Her hard work paid off in May 2023, when she was announced as one of the winners.

• Even though the initial idea was sparked by her desire to help her friend’s uncle, Jain’s ultimate goal is far more expansive. She envisions her application assisting those afflicted with a range of eye disorders and injuries. While talking about this, in an interview, Asmi said,
  

  It was important for me to create an app playground that could positively impact the lives of people like him. My next goal is to get feedback and make sure it’s effective and user-friendly, and then release it on the App Store. Ultimately, I want to expand it so that it helps strengthen all of the muscles in the face, and I hope it can one day serve as a therapy tool that people like my friend’s uncle can use at their own pace.”

• Yemi Agesin and Michelle Caliendo were also announced as the winners of the WWDC23 Swift Student Challenge along with Asmi Jain. Agesin brought his love for sports and filmmaking to life in his creation, a first-person baseball game. Caliendo’s innovation, however, took shape in an app playground that offers a memory game, adorned with anatomically accurate illustrations of dinosaur fossils; She meticulously crafted these images using Procreate software on her iPad.

• Asmi Jain has a profound passion for coding. In an interview, she expressed how coding not only fuels her motivation but also serves as a means to craft valuable solutions for her friends and the broader community. She said,
  

  When you feel as though you’re part of something bigger, it motivates you and drives you to do better. Coding lets me create things that help my friends and my community. And it gives me a sense of independence that is very empowering.”

• Asmi Jain joined Acropolis Infotech as an iOS Developer intern in July 2021 and continued till February 2022.

• In August 2021, Asmi Jain became a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a globally recognized scientific and industrial computer society, at Medi-Caps University in Madhya Pradesh.

• From January 2022 to April 2022, she held the position of a general board member at AIESEC in Madhya Pradesh which is renowned as the world’s largest youth-led organization committed to nurturing the leadership capabilities of young individuals.

• Asmi has been an active member of Medi-Caps University’s Students’ Innovation and Technical Club (STIC) since 2021. She held the position of a student mentor of the club from August 2021 to August 2022, and in May 2022, she was appointed as the secretary of the club.

• Asmi was appointed as the Google DSC lead at Google Developer Student Clubs in July 2022.

• She took on the role of technical executive at Medi-Caps University’s Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) in November 2022. The E-Cell is a non-profit organization operated by students of Medi-Caps University, aimed at promoting and fostering entrepreneurship.
