He grew up in a poor family with his father working in multiple professions to earn money.

He was afflicted with polio when he was two years old and nearly died due to the disease. His right hand and left foot are smaller compared to his left hand and right foot due to polio.

He joined the theatre group, ‘Alquimera’ while studying at the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas in Colombia.

Initially, he worked as an undergarment salesman in San Victorino, Bogotá.

In 1990, he won the ‘Los Cuentachistes’ contest.

He has appeared in the Columbian TV show, ‘Sábados Felices’ from 1990 to 2018.

He suffered from pre-infarction, chest pain that occurs days before the heart attack, and was admitted to a hospital in Bucaramanga in November 2011.

In an interview in 2014, he claimed that he became a politician as he found the government lacking in taking proper care of the children education and quality of life and said,

Thanks to my humorous activity, I have traveled all over the country and I am tired of finding so many weaknesses throughout the national territory regarding the care and attention of Colombian children, in all aspects, including the most important ones such as education, quality of life, sexual abuse that is not punished, bullying and teenage pregnancy.”

In 2021, he made several accusations against the managers of the show, ‘Sábados Felices’ and claimed that comedians were often forced to work up to 18 hours a day. He further claimed that there were many incidents of sexual harassment as well.

In January 2024, he won the case against Caracol Televisión for firing him unjustly from their show, ‘Sábados Felices’ in 2018.

In 2025, he became a contestant on the second season of the Columbian reality TV show, ‘La Casa de los Famosos Colombia.’
