  • Deepesh Devendran was born in a Tamil family, as his father, V. Devendran, played in the inaugural Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2007 as an opening batter.
  • V. Devendran was the joint third-highest run-scorer in the 2007 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy alongside S. Anirudha.
  • After domestic cricket, V. Devendran later joined the now-defunct Indian Cricket League.
  • He coached Deepesh during his early years and advised him to focus on fast bowling due to his natural pace.
  • Deepesh consistently bowled above 130 kilometres per hour during his teenage development years.
  • In 2024, he was named as a standby player for India Under-19 but missed the Asia Cup due to visa delays. He was later dropped from the Under-19 setup after a poor semifinal performance during the same year.
  • During 2024, Deepesh was part of Tamil Nadu’s Vijay Hazare Trophy squad. While with the Vijay Hazare squad, Sandeep Warrier guided Deepesh to maintain pace without shortening his run-up.

  • On 16 June 2025, Deepesh Devendran was selected for India Under-19 as an injury replacement for the England tour.
  • In September 2025, he toured Australia with the Indian Under-19 team for Youth ODIs and Youth Tests. India Under-19 won the Youth ODI series against Australia 3–0 in September 2025.
  • On 30 September 2025, Deepesh played the first Youth Test against Australia Under-19 at Brisbane. In the match on 30 September 2025, he took 5 wickets for 45 runs in 16.2 overs. His bowling restricted Australia Under-19 to 243 runs on the opening day of the Youth Test.
