Asifa Mengal joined the Majeed Brigade of Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) on her 21st birthday in October 2023.

In January 2024, she chose to become a “fidayee” (suicide attacker). After that, she underwent specialised training.

In February 2026, Asifa Mengal made headlines when the BLA claimed that she targeted the ISI headquarters in Nushki, Pakistan, on 31 January 2026.
- She used a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).

Reportedly, the attack killed nearly 50 people, which included at least 17 security personnel.
