- Ashutosh Maharaj was born and raised in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh.
- He became active in religious and social activities at a young age and also got connected with Hindu religious groups.
- In 2022, Ashutosh became a disciple of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya and changed his name to Ashutosh Maharaj from Ashutosh Pandey.
- After becoming a disciple of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, he joined the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nirman Trust and participated in matters related to the Krishna Janmabhoomi–Shahi Eidgah dispute.
- Since December 2022, he has been serving as the chairman of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nirman Trust, Mathura.

- On the other hand, Swami Avimukteshwaranand publicly denied all the charges against him and his camp and said,
Those boys never entered our Gurukul, never studied, and we have nothing to do with them. They are students of a school in Hardoi, as evidenced by their marksheets submitted in the lawsuit. So, when they never came here, and have nothing to do with this place, how can anyone do anything to them?”
- Swami Avimukteshwaranand added that Ashutosh Maharaj is a history-sheeter, and a total of 21 cases, including sexual abuse, money fraud, Fake warrants, cow-slaughter related charges, and other serious cases were registered at different police stations of Uttar Pradesh.
- Ashutosh Maharaj, however, denied the charges, calling them false cases lodged by his enemies. Also in an interview, he admitted that his historysheet was opened at the Kandhla police station in Shamli, but claimed that he has been cleared in all the cases. He said,
I have been exonerated from all charges… My historysheet was opened at Kandhla police station in Shamli during the Akhilesh Yadav government to suppress me and my movements for safeguarding Sanatan Dharma.”
