- After completing his graduation from Anna University in India, S. Somasegar received an offer to work as a research scientist at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
- However, he rejected the offer and moved from India to the US, where he completed his master’s degree in Computer Engineering at Louisiana State University (LSU).
- In January 1989, S. Somasegar started working as a Corporate Vice President at Microsoft in Seattle, Washington.
