- Hital Meswani is the son of one of the founding directors of the Reliance Industries, Rasiklal Meswani.
- He is related to the Ambani family for three generations as his grandmother, Trilochana Ben, was the elder sister of Dhirubhai Ambani, founder of the Reliance company.
- Hital finished his schooling and continued his studies in the United States.
- He went to the University of Pennsylvania, where he was accepted into the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology.
- In 1990, he graduated from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and from the Wharton Business School with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
- He has benefited from the dual-degree programme from the beginning of his career, which provided him with excellent technical and business competencies.
- The university instilled in him the ability of independent thinking, rigorous problem solving and open debate.
